Ellsworth Community College was founded by Eugene S. Ellsworth in 1890 as a private business academy, known as Ellsworth College. ECC is now a member of the Iowa Valley Community College District. The campus of the college is located in Iowa Falls, Iowa.

Ellsworth Community College offers a number of associate's degrees, career and technical certificates, and diploma programs. Courses are available in subjects like art, agriculture, business administration, computer science, dentistry, law, music, nursing, physical education, and veterinary medicine.

The athletics department of Ellsworth Community College sponsors teams in baseball, basketball, football, golf, softball, volleyball, and wrestling.
