Erie Community College, also known as ECC, is the 4th leading community college in the state of New York. Founded in 1946, ECC has main campuses located in Buffalo, Orchard Park and Williamsville, and enrolls over 10,000 students currently. The university offers more than 50 associate degree programs, training programs and non-credit courses to the students.

The athletics teams of ECC are nicknamed The Kats. They participate in swimming, hockey, golf, cross country, bowling, basketball, soccer, volleyball and various other sports events. The university has more than 60,000 alumni. 'Baby' Joe Mesi, the famous heavyweight boxer, and Joel Giambra, the former Country Executive, are notable alumni of the college.
