Evergreen Valley College is a community college located in the eastern foothills of San Jose, California. The campus is spread over an area of 175 acres. It was founded in the year 1975. EVC enrolls more than 8,000 students annually from over 70 countries. The rich culture of the college makes it one of the most diverse student bodies within the California Community College System.

The college offers many degrees and certificates to the students in several fields of study. The college infrastructure includes classrooms, labs for biological sciences and nursing education programs, a well stocked Library, and the Montgomery Hill Observatory.

The sports teams of EVC participate in a variety of sports. Their official mascot is the Hawk.

Flexible methodologies: learning through civic engagement, service learning and learning communities; through distance education; and through traditional on-campus, off-campus, non-credit, and community-education courses. Support services for students: learning of basic skills, English as a Second Language, and technology; and with programs to support students academically, personally, economically, socially, and culturally. This mission is, and shall remain, in accordance with all legislation enacted by the State of California and the policies of the San Jose/Evergreen Community College DistrictĘs Board of Trustees.
