Excelsior College or EC, a private college situated in Albany, is a member of the University of the State of New York. It was founded in the year 1971. Excelsior College is one of several regionally accredited colleges. The college offers associate, bachelor's and master's degree programs in various fields of study like business, technology, liberal arts, health sciences and nursing.
Many graduates of EC have gone on to become famous. Some alumni of the college are June Jones, the Head Football Coach at Southern Methodist University, Anthony J. O'Donnell, a Maryland politician; and Joe R. Campa Jr., the current Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy
