Overview of Expression College for Digital Arts
Expression College for Digital Arts was founded in 1998 in Emeryville, California. Its name at the time was “Expression Center for New Media". Starting out with 48 students taking classes in Sound Arts and Digital Visual Media, the College saw both its reputation in the community and enrollment grow over the next several years. By 2004, the school served more than 500 students. The school also changed its name to Expression College for Digital Arts, reflecting more accurately the core focus of the College’s curriculum. The school today offers accelerated Bachelor of Applied Science degree programs which can be completed in about 2˝ years. Graduates go on to rewarding careers in animation, gaming, motion graphic design and sound arts.

Areas of Study
The College offers Bachelor of Applied Science degrees in the following areas: Sound Arts, Animation and Visual Effects, Motion Graphic Design, and Game Art and Design. These degrees are achieved through a 26-31 month accelerated program, where each required course takes five weeks and students take either one or two courses at a time. The streamlined curriculum calls for each course to build on the skills and knowledge of its predecessor course, allowing students to graduate and begin their careers sooner.
Expression College for Digital Arts Admissions
Applicants must complete an Admissions Application and undergo an entrance interview. Applicants will also need to select a specific start date, of which there are 8 or 9 per calendar year to choose from. An admissions representative will work with the applicant to help select the most beneficial start date.
Expression College for Digital Arts Faculty Quality
The faculty is comprised of a wide range of skilled instructors from many different backgrounds. Teachers are required to possess at minimum a Bachelor's degree plus four years of industry experience. Many faculty members actually have far more years of industry experience and a number of them continue to work on projects outside of the College.
Expression College for Digital Arts Student Body
Students at Expression range in age from 18 to 60. Average age is 22. Approximately 85% of the student body is male, and 65% is from the San Francisco Bay Area.
Expression College for Digital Arts Student Life
Expression does not offer on-campus housing but does employ housing coordinators who assist students in meeting their housing needs. Coordinators maintain a current listing of available local housing and keep in contact with various local apartment complexes and housing managers/landlords. Activities are always available and the San Francisco Bay Area provides the ideal setting for recreation and entertainment.
