The Fashion Institute of Design and Manufacturing (FIDM) was established in 1981. The institute has four campuses in California including one in Orange County, Irvine. At Irvine, the institute operates from a 38,000 square-foot campus. FIDM is known for integrating creative and leadership skills in its curriculum catering to the fashion, visual arts, interior design and entertainment industries.
FIDM offers over 15 majors including merchandise marketing, merchandise product management, interior design and international manufacturing and product development. The fashion institute also offers a scholarship program through its Annual National Scholarship Competition.
Student organizations at FIDM include the ASID Student Chapter for interior design majors, the Association of Manufacturing Students, the FIDM Honor Society and Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.
