Full Sail University was founded in 1979 as Full Sail Real World Education. It was established by Jon Phelps as a recording studio workshop. The university adopted its present name on March 24, 2008. Full Sail University's campus is spread out across an area of more than 175 acres in Winter Park, Florida. The university confers various associates, bachelors and masters degrees to its students.
Darren Lynn Bousman, the director of Saw II, Saw III, and Saw IV; Sangam Gupta, the Chief Executive Officer of Trine Games; David Farmer, the Sound Designer of King Kong; and JD Harmeyer, the Media Producer of The Howard Stern Show all attended Full Sail.
