Galen College of Nursing (formerly Galen Health Institutes) was established in 1990 by the Humana Health Institutes, Inc. Originally named Health Institute and Galen Health Institute, it became an independent organization in 1994. In 2005, the institute was renamed Galen College of Nursing. The main campus is situated in Louisville, Kentucky. Galen College of Nursing also operates branches in San Antonio, Texas; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Tampa Bay, Florida. Students are offered a variety of degree programs in the field of nursing.
Galen College of Nursing organizes different student activities like the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Walk, and Relay for Life. Students also publish a newsletter called "The Pulse". Support services like academic advisement, personal counseling, and placement assistance are provided as well. Financial aid is offered through Federal Pell Grants, FSEOG Grants, Stafford Loans, Plus Loans, Veteran's Educational Benefits, Academic Competitiveness Grants, and SLM Career Training Loans.
