Overview of Goodwin College
Founded in 1999, Goodwin College evolved from the institution first established in 1962 as the Data Institute Business School. Located in East Hartford, CT, Goodwin is a private two-year college accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and is one of the fastest-growing institutions of its size in Connecticut. The College boasts a network of cooperating employers, with whom students can pursue careers in a variety of business, medical, and computer-related areas.

Goodwin College Admissions
Students applying to Goodwin College for the first time should first complete an Application for Admission and submit proof (or sign a Certification of Attainment) of high school graduation or equivalent. A personal interview with an admissions officer is required for all interested applicants. Placement tests in reading comprehension, sentence skills, mathematics, and algebra are required to be administered to all incoming students except those entering with a Bachelors Degree from another accredited institution.
Goodwin College Faculty Quality
Goodwin College boasts a faculty which embraces change, pursues continual academic achievement, and is passionate about teaching. The faculty is comprised of over 70 members, about 60% of which are full-time. The student/faculty ratio is approximately 12:1.
American Career College Student Body
The student body consists of over 1,000 students, about 25% of which are full-time. Student ratio is approximately 90% female and 10% male. The majority of students come from the Northeast United States, and the average age of full-time undergraduates is 27.
Goodwin College Student Life
Goodwin's main campus in East Hartford, Connecticut, includes two historic mansions and an academic building. Courses are also offered at learning sites located in Waterbury and Hamden, Connecticut. Goodwin is a commuter school whose students live off-campus. The nearest international airport is less than 10 miles away and public transportation is constantly available to serve the campus. Student activities include a student government and a student newspaper.
