Great Bay Community College, which was established in 1945, has two campuses, one in Portsmouth and the other in Stratham. Great Bay Community College is a member of the Community College System of New Hampshire. Students are offered associate's degrees in diverse fields of study such as early childhood education, hospitality management, liberal arts, nursing, and automotive technology.

Great Bay Community College has several sports teams including men’s and women’s cross country, co-ed golf, and men’s basketball. There are also a number of student clubs including the Soccer Club, Alternative Spring Break Club, the Early Childhood Education Club, the Stratham Student Nurses' Association (SSNA), and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
