Gulf Coast College (GCC) was established in 1948, and is the perfect place for any aspiring student to gain access to a new career. Gulf Coast College provides programs in the health and medical fields. Their program's graduates receive either an associates degree or a certificate upon completion of the required courses. Some of these courses include Health Information Management, Medical Assisting, and Aesthetics Skincare. They also offer several programs in computing and IT fields. There are also programs that have no degree, but will apply towards a bachelor's degree when credit is transferred to another school.
Gulf Coast College Selectivity
Gulf Coast College has an open admissions policy. This means that anyone can attend the school, regardless of passed school experiences. The only real requirement is proof of a high school diploma. A G.E.D. or equivalent diploma will be accepted also. Applications can be requested and sent through regular mail, or submitted online through their web site. A tour of the campus as well as a meeting with a personal advisor is recommended to all new students attending classes at Gulf Coast College for the first time.

Most of the student population of Gulf Coast College is female, and from the surrounding Florida area. Some still choose to move to beautiful Tampa, Florida, to enjoy the environment as much as the school's facilities and programs. Student's lives at Gulf Coast College usually remain uninterrupted once they start attending classes. The campus is commuter based, with no dormitories. There is plenty of apartments and other living facilities throughout Tampa and the surrounding areas in Florida, making it easy to relocate and attend classes. Tampa, Florida, is one of the major hot spots in Florida, with a night-life all its own. Florida is also home to many attractions, all within driving distance of Tampa including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football team, Universal Studios,a nd Busch Gardens.
