Gwinnett Technical College, or GTC, was originally established as the Gwinnett Area Technical School in 1984. After two name changes, the institute was finally christened Gwinnett Technical College on July 6, 2000.

GTC offers more than 40 associate’s degrees, diplomas, and certificate programs in various areas of study. Among these are courses in arts & sciences, automotive technology, business & finance, computer science, health sciences, public safety & service, veterinary technology, and visual arts, fashion & design. Continuing education and adult education programs are also available to the students of this college.

Gwinnett Technical College sponsors a large number of student clubs and organizations. Some of the clubs include Delta Epsilon Chi, Phi Beta Lambda, Voices of the World, the National Technical Honor Society, the Sport and Recreation Management Club, Skills USA-VICA, and the Student Leadership Council.
