Hannibal-LaGrange College, HLG, was established in 1858. Originally located in LaGrange, Missouri, the campus moved to Hannibal in 1928. It is now spread across more than 100 acres and offers enrollment to students from over 25 states and several countries around the world.

Hannibal-LaGrange College awards associate's degrees in arts, science, nursing, and applied science, and bachelor's degrees in arts, science, education, nursing, and applied science. HLG also offers the Master of Science in Education degree program. In addition, students can opt for continuing education, adult education, and online learning courses.

The sports teams, nicknamed the Trojans, participate in baseball, basketball, soccer, golf, wrestling, volleyball, swimming, cross country, track and field, and softball. The athletics department is a member of the American Midwest Conference, and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes Division I.
