Overview of Health Training Center

Health Training Center (HTC) is a healthcare training school with seven locations throughout Massachusetts. The Director of HTC is Dr. Stanton Rome, a provider of health care courses for over 20 years. The school strives to provide quality healthcare education at an affordable cost. Certificates are awarded to students who successfully complete each program, and lifetime job placement assistance is provided at no additional charge.

Health Training Center operates out of their main office in Cambridge, but has six other locations for classes: Attleboro/Providence, Brockton/Stoughton, Lynn, Chelmsford/Lowell, Milford/Woonsocket, and Worcester. All Health Training Center programs are licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Education.

Areas of Study

Health Training Center offers six healthcare certificate programs, including: Medical Assistant, Medical Billing, Medical Assistant and Coder, Phlebotomy Technician, Cardio-Phlebotomy Technician, and Pharmacy Technician.

HTC offers six semesters of classes per year, with day, night, and weekend classes available. Early registration is suggested to ensure placement in classes. All students are required to complete a Success Strategies Practicum Lab, teaching students valuable skills such as study techniques, test taking, listening, and resume writing, among others.

Health Training Center Selectivity

All students must be able to read, speak, and comprehend English at the 10th grade level. The educational requirements are that students must either have earned a high school diploma, G.E.D., CNA License, or an equivalent. The Phlebotomy and Medical Assistant programs have additional prerequisites. Students may register for classes by on-line, mail or fax.

Health Training Center Faculty Quality

Instructors bring qualified work experience to the classroom and include doctors, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, medical assistants, medical billers and coders, RNs and LPNs, and phlebotomists. Class sizes are small, allowing faculty to provide personal attention.

Health Training Center Student Life

Students can choose classes at seven different locations. With the exception of the main office location in Cambridge, all classrooms are held in rented spaces such as churches and hospitals, thereby reducing costs while maintaining quality learning settings. Health Training Center also has a supportive and caring network for job search assistance.
