Hofstra University, a nonsectarian, co-ed private university, occupies more than 240 acres of land and was established in 1935. The university comprises nearly 130 buildings and has more than 1,000 faculty members.

Hofstra University organizes more than 400 cultural events every year. The university serves over 10,000 students and offers over 150 graduate and 140 undergraduate programs.

The official athletics teams of Hofstra are nicknamed The Pride. The university presently fields men’s and women’s teams in soccer, basketball, hockey, golf and volleyball. Baseball players Ken Singleton and Richard Caputo, basketball players Loren Stokes and Bret Gunning, and football players Charlie Adams, Rocky Butler and Marques Colston are notable alumni of the university.

Founded in 1935, Hofstra is a private coeducational university sitting on a beautiful 240-acre campus in Hempstead, Long Island, only 25 miles east of New York City. Areas of Study

Hofstra Online offers a Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science degree which can be completed in as little as 18 months. The curriculum provides a solid foundation and training for practicing computational scientists, computer specialists or software engineers in business, industry or government. Applications for admission to the program are accepted continuously throughout the year. There are six starts annually. Students desiring admission should fill out the online admissions form after which they will be contacted by a Hofstra enrollment advisor. Hofstra University Online Student Life

The online student experience substitutes a computer for the classroom. All course lectures will be available online and can be replayed as often as desired. All homework, class work, writing assignments and exams are completed and submitted online. A detailed course syllabus is provided to every student.
