Idaho State University, established in 1901, has its main campus located in Pocatello. ISU is a doctoral research university and has over 250 programs. The university currently enrolls more than 10,000 students and has roughly 400 faculty members. The main programs at the college include:
Idaho State University's mascot is Benny the Bengal and its official colors are orange and black. ISU has indoor track, golf, football and basketball teams. Author Don Aslett, 2000 Olympic gold medalist Stacy Dragila, ESPN commentator Merril Hoge, and former U.S. Senator James A. McClure are all famous alumni of ISU.
