Illinois Valley Community College, also referred to as IVCC, is located near the Illinois River, Oglesby. The college was established in 1924 and was originally known as LaSalle-Peru-Oglesby (LPO) Junior College. The students of IVCC are offered associate degree and certificate programs through various academic divisions including:

The athletic teams in the college are known as the Eagles. The notable alumni of the college includes Dr. Robert Spetzler, world famous Arizona neurosurgeon; Ralph Bowermaster, talented singer in many college musicals; and Don Baker, Peru Mayor since 1965.
