The college operates campuses in Estherville, Algona, Emmetsburg, Spencer, and Spirit Lake. Iowa Lakes Community College offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study. The college also offers distance learning programs through online courses.

Iowa Lakes' athletics department sponsors several men's and women's sports teams. They participate in sports such as volleyball, softball, socce, and wrestling. The college is a member of the Iowa Junior College Conference. The campus is also home to several student clubs and organizations.
