Overview
The school of nursing at Jacksonville University Online, provides an online RN to BSN degree program. The university also provides "practice projects" such as a Community Health Nursing Practice for the Experienced Nurse and the Professional Nursing Synthesis for the Experienced Nurse. These projects are worked on in the student's local area.
Jacksonville University Online uses the support services offered by the University Alliance Online, the nation's largest facilitator of e-learning. In addition, the school of Nursing has received accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

Areas of Study
The RN to BSN degree program offers a comprehensive review of critical care, research and assessment and community health. The curriculum examines integrating complementary/alternative approaches into nursing. Students are provided training in solving problems and evaluating legal and ethical dilemmas in critical care. A solid foundation is also provided in health promotion, community health nursing practice, critical care nursing theory and leadership and management.
Admissions
Applicants are required to complete the application packet which may be submitted by mail or fax. They must also send a transcript release form to all the schools they have attended. Applicants for the online RN to BSN degree program must have graduated from an associate degree in nursing or diploma nursing program that has been state-approved. An active U.S. registered nurse license is also required.
State, federal and other types of grants and loans are provided to those who qualify. The Nursing Education Loan Program helps registered nurses repay their education loans in exchange for service in critical shortage facilities.
Faculty
Full-time faculty members of the on-campus university and adjunct faculty members teach the online classes. The instructors have extensive knowledge in their field of teaching.
Student Body
Most of the students are attending Jacksonville University Online in order to advance in their careers. Most of them are working professionals.
Student Life
The online message boards, chat rooms and email allow the students to communicate with classmates and instructors. The Jacksonville University Online students are also offered assistance by technical support professionals. The students are also provided with a University Alliance Online student services representative and an academic advisor.
