Flagler Johnson & Wales University-Charlotte, also known as JWU-Charlotte, was established in 2004. The student body consists of national as well as international enrollments from over 45 states in the U.S and 15 countries all around the world. The institution awards undergraduate and graduate degree programs in subjects including hospitality, culinary arts, business, and technology and education. Several courses are also available in continuing and adult education programs. Students are also given opportunities for studying abroad.

JWU-Charlotte's athletics department fields numerous men's and women's sports teams. The institution organizes intramural sports. They participate in sports including softball, ice hockey, and soccer. The campus is home to several student run clubs and organizations. These are Student Government Association, and Sports Club among others.
