Lake Superior State University, also known as Lake Superior State or Lake State or LSSU, is located in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, United States. It was founded in the year 194. It objectives were to offer education to the residents of the Eastern Upper Peninsula and to address the needs of veterans returning from World War II. The campus occupies more than 100 acres of land space. The university is divided into four degree-granting colleges which are:

  • College of Business and Professional Studies
  • College of Health Professions
  • College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
  • College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities

LSSU's students participate in a wide variety of sports including cross country, volleyball, tennis, track and field, ice hockey, basketball, and softball. The athletic teams of LSSU are nicknamed the Lakers.
