Lamar Institute of Technology, also referred to as LIT, is situated in Beaumont, Texas, United States. Originally, it was part of Lamar University which was founded in 1946 as the Division of Vocations. It became a separate institution in the year 1995. LIT offers degrees and certificates in several areas of study including public service and safety, workforce training, technology, allied health and sciences, business technologies, and general education and developmental studies. Distance education options are also available.

Lamar Institute of Technology's students participate in sports such as basketball, racquetball, table tennis, volleyball, badminton, floor hockey, and indoor soccer. LIT is also home to a number of student organizations including Phi Theta Kappa, Student Government Association, and Lamar Alive.
