The Lamar State College–Orange, popularly referred to as LSC-O, was established in 1969. The college was started as an extension of Lamar University. Academic programs are offered in the fields of communication, computer science, criminal justice, liberal arts, natural science, and others. The institution awards associate’s degrees in science. Continuing education and distance education courses are also available. LSC-O is organized into the following academic divisions:

  • The Allied Health Division
  • The Arts and Science Division
  • The Business and Technology Division
  • The Education Division
