Laney College

Laney College

Laney College was established in 1953, and is situated in Oakland, California. The college was originally opened as Oakland City College. The campus occupies more than 60 acres of land. The college offers over 20 certificate programs as well as Associate of Arts degrees, and more than 10 Associate of Science Degrees. Academic divisions of the college include:

  • Division of Business, Math, and Sciences
  • Division of Community Partnerships and Workforce Development
  • Division of Fine and Applied Arts, Communications, and Physical Education
  • Division of Humanities, Language Arts, and Social Sciences
  • Division of Vocational Technology

The college mascot is Eddie the Eagle, and the official colors are silver and forest green. The sports teams of Laney College play water polo, track, baseball, volleyball and football.
