Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts (Boston) opened in Cambridge, Massachusetts in April of 2008. Modeled after the renowned Ecole du Cordon Bleu in Paris, the school is the 14th United States campus of the Le Cordon Bleu family of culinary schools. The Boston campus, located near the long-time residence of legendary chef Julia Child, will include a training restaurant, Technique, slated to open in the spring of 2009. The College offers a two-year Associate of Applied Science degree in which students learn classical French cooking techniques, the business of food preparation, nutrition and sanitation.

Le Cordon Bleu offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Culinary Arts. This program is designed to provide the theoretical foundation and technical skills necessary to enter the food service industry in entry- to mid-level positions and to advance to a variety of related positions. The school's well-rounded curriculum includes an array of culinary proficiencies which include classical French cooking methods and the qualitative aspects of food preparation, including nutrition and sanitation. Timeliness, procedure, and organization are emphasized, as is product quality.
Also covered are international and cross-cultural cuisines and cooking techniques. As part of the restaurant experience, students can also learn management theory and develop an understanding of effective leadership and how it can influence their environment. The program is structured for a 15-month duration: 12 months on campus followed by a three-month externship where students can apply their newly acquired culinary skills in a real-world setting.

The school is located in a convenient urban setting in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The campus occupies approximately 70,000 square feet in what is known historically as The Athenaeum Press Building. Included in the facility are eight massive state-of-the-art kitchens, an expansive library, computer labs, a student bookstore, and classrooms with both lecture spaces and instructional kitchens. Le Cordon Bleu does not provide on-campus housing but does help students find suitable housing off campus.
The campus is adjacent to major thoroughfares and accessible from all parts of the Boston metropolitan area. A culinary melting pot, the City of Boston provides the ideal setting for a school of this type. A rich array of ethnic restaurants and bakeries which cater to the city's more than 12 million tourists a year supplement a wide variety of shops, sports teams, and esteemed local colleges.
