While the Las Vegas branch of this famed cooking school was started just a few years ago in 2003, the original Le Cordon Bleu school was established in Paris in 1895, graduating notables such as Julia Child, Giada De Laurentis and other famous chefs. The school confers the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu Diplôme in addition to an associate’s degree for those who successfully complete the culinary arts program. A certificate program is also available for those who opt to pursue baking and pastry making.
The Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts Program combines theory with practice, making use of the school’s professional kitchen facilities. In addition to cooking skills, students of this program also learn about food nutrition and sanitation. The Le Cordon Bleu Pâtisserie and Baking Program provides a hands-on education on classical and modern baking methods, with the flexibility to allow students to develop their own personal expression.

The school seeks students who are enthusiastic about food preparation but who also possess a high school diploma (or GED).
Students accepted to the school may be eligible for a range of U.S. government grants and loans. Students may need to possess certain qualifications for such aid. Private loans may also be available. The school’s Financial Aid Office can help students tackle the process.
