Areas of Study

In the Culinary Arts Certificate Program students develop their skills through demonstrations and practical learning. Students are taught classic culinary techniques and modern innovations. Students are also provided training in the newest global cuisine as well as international and American regional cuisine.

Students learn about the various ingredients and flavors used in Asian and European cuisine. The curriculum also thoroughly reviews the concepts of baking and pastry and provides training in the principles of butchery. Graduates of the program have opportunities for employment as cooks and apprentice chefs. In addition, an externship is part of the program.
