Lone Star College System (LSCS), formerly known as North Harris Montgomery Community College District, was established in 1973. Headquartered in Woodlands, TX, LSCS serves students over 1,400 square miles throughout the north/northwest Houston area. It is one of the fastest growing colleges in the state with more than 58,000 students (as of fall of 2009), up from about 30,000 in 2007.

LSCS has recently purchased the HP Center in north Houston which will host another University Center. Additionally, the System has expanded its services to include a Corporate College, which offers on-site training for companies.
The college also offers distance learning/online programs, service learning and honors programs.
Men’s and women’s basketball, golf, soccer, softball, table tennis, volleyball and various other sports are offered by Lone Star College.
