The Long Island Business Institute, LIBI, was established in 1968 in Commack, New York. Another campus called Queens Campus in New York began in 2001 at Flushing and became the main campus of LIBI in 2008.

Long Island Business Institute is known for its college-level occupational programs. It offers degree programs in accounting and business management along with diploma and certificate courses. The Long Island campus is specially known for its court reporting program which focuses on terminology and speed building. Both campuses of Long Island Business Institute house student organizations like the small business club, web design club and the court reporting alumni association.
