LACC is the flagship of the Los Angeles Community College District, which comprises more than 8 separate college campuses.

The college offers several facilities to its students which include more than a dozen multistoried classroom buildings, a well stocked library, computer labs, fitness centers, a theatre and TV/ film studios. Some of the graduates of LACC have gone on to become famous. They include Bob Arbogast, radio personality and voice actor; Billy Barty, actor and founder of Little People of America; Charles Bukowski, poet and author; and James Coburn, actor.
