Louisiana Tech University was established in 1894, and is a public co-ed university situated in Ruston, Louisiana. The university is well-known for its athletics and engineering programs, and has nearly 9,000 undergraduates at present.

Louisiana Tech University offers degree programs in business, engineering and science, education, applied and natural science and liberal arts.

The Louisiana Tech University men's athletic teams are known as The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs and the women's athletic teams are nicknamed the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters. The teams participate in intercollegiate basketball, baseball, football, cross country, indoor track and outdoor track, golf, bowling, volleyball, softball, soccer and tennis. Some of the alumni of the university include Medical Technologist Shanil Keshwani, Retired WNBA player Teresa Weatherspoon, American football kicker Matt Stover, and Retired Major League Baseball player David Segui.
