Madonna University was established in 1937 by the Felician Sisters of Livonia and is also known as MU. The university campus sits on over 45 acres in Livonia, Michigan and there are also extension campuses in Orchard Lake, Southwest Detroit, and Gaylord, Michigan. It offers more than 50 undergraduate majors and around 22 master's programs. The university also offers several publications including the Madonna Herald, Madonna Muse, and The Transept. MU is organized into the following academic divisions:
MU is a member of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Their sports teams are known as the Crusaders. The men’s and women’s sports teams of the university include baseball, cross country, basketball, soccer, golf, volleyball, and softball.
