Marshall University is a coeducational public research university, located in Huntington, West Virginia. It was founded in 1837 as a private subscription school. The main campus is situated on 60 acres. The college offers a variety of degrees and programs through eight colleges and schools which are:

  • College of Education and Human Services (COEHS)
  • College of Fine Arts (COFA)
  • College of Health Professions (COHP)
  • College of Information Technology and Engineering (CITE)
  • College of Liberal Arts (COLA)
  • College of Science (COS)
  • Elizabeth McDowell Lewis College of Business (LCOB)
  • W. Page Pitt School of Journalism and Mass Communications (SOJMC)

Marshall University's sports teams are nicknamed the Thundering Herd. They participate in NCAA Division I (I-A for football) as a member of Conference USA.
