McKendree College, now McKendree University, is located in Lebanon, Illinois, United States. It was founded in the year 1828 by pioneer Methodists and known as the Lebanon Seminary. It is the oldest college in Illinois. McKendree University gained university status in the 2007-2008 academic year. Students are offered bachelor degree and graduate degrees. The men's sports teams of McKendree University participate in varioius sports including basketball, baseball, track and field, bowling, football, golf, cross country, tennis, soccer, hockey, and wrestling. The women's sports teams compete in bowling, basketball, soccer, track and field, golf, cross country, tennis, softball, and volleyball. The athletic teams are nicknamed the Bearcats.
McKendree is located in Lebanon, IL (a large suburb). The school is a United Methodist school. McKendree is a private, not-for-profit institution. The highest degree level offered by the school is the Master's degree.
