Miami University is a coeducational public university located in Oxford, Ohio. It was founded in the year 1809. MUO offers a wide variety of programs and degrees in diverse fields of study, through six academic divisions:
Miami University’s sports teams are known as RedHawks. The university is a member of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA).

The range of program offerings available from the school is especially impressive compared to its number of students. Students at Miami University Oxford often study liberal arts.
The admissions department at the school does not accept all those who apply. Most students' verbal SAT scores were in the range of 530 to 630 in 2007-2008. A quarter of students admitted in 2007-2008 scored 650 or higher on the math SAT.
