Founded in 1911, Middle Tennessee State University is an American university located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. It is a member of the Tennessee Board of Regents System, one of the two higher education systems in Tennessee. The MTSU campus sits on an area of 466 acres and has more than 100 buildings.
MTSU offers various degrees programs and certificates in diverse areas of study. The university is divided into seven colleges, which include:
MTSU’s sports teams are known as Blue Raiders. Their official mascot is a blue winged horse named Lightning.

The school is known for its programs in media and music.
Admission to Middle Tennessee State University is not automatic; not everyone who applies gets in. Hats off to the 39% of those who apply who get accepted.
