Midland College

Midland College is a co-educational community college located in Midland, Texas. It was founded as an independent junior college in 1972 and held its first classes on campus in 1975. The school stretches over approximately 220 acres of land.

The sports teams of Midland College are known as the Chaps. The official mascot of Midland is the Chaparral. Men's teams from MC take part in baseball, basketball and golf. Women's teams participate in basketball, softball and volleyball.

Notable alumni from MC include Spud Webb, former NBA player and the 1986 NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion, and Nikki Stokes, American volleyball player and the 2006-2007 US volleyball captain.
