The Milan Institute and the Milan Institute of Cosmetology is a career-training educational system with 15 campus locations spread across California, Texas, Idaho and Nevada. The system has been family-owned by the Yasuda family since it opened in 1985. Milan offers hands-on training in a wide variety of career fields. Programs include career training in the business, accounting, healthcare, medical, computers, cosmetology, and oil and gas fields. The Institute provides job placement assistance and boasts a high degree of name recognition among several employers.
Accreditation varies by location. Some bodies accrediting the Milan Institute include the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET), the Council on Occupational Education (COE), and the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts & Sciences, Inc.
Classes at the Milan Institute are instructor-led. Faculty members are all professionals in their respective fields. Milan is a commuter school which does not offer on-campus housing. The Career Services department at each campus offers assistance to students in the form of community resources, resume development, and job placement to qualified graduates. A high school completion program is available for those who need it. Cosmetology students will be able to get real-life client interaction through the Milan Institute's student salons and spas. If desired, the Milan Institute can assist students wishing to become registered voters. Financial aid is also available to students who qualify.
