The Milan Institute of Cosmetology is a multi-campus institution offering career training for students seeking work in the beauty industry. The family owned Milan Institute opened its doors in 1985. The school now has two separate divisions -- the Milan Institute of Cosmetology and the Milan Institute. Milan's cosmetology division has eight locations in Texas, California, Nevada and Idaho. Students at the Milan Institute of Cosmetology participate in instructor-led training that is hands-on. Some programs prepare students for careers as cosmetologists, estheticians and nail technicians. Upon completion, students are ready to sit for their state board examinations.
The Milan Institute of Cosmetology is nationally accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts & Sciences, Inc.
Instructors at the Milan Institute of Cosmetology are professionals in their field. Faculty members use their experience to impart practical knowledge and skills to their students, enabling them to gain training that is relevant to their career. Since many of the instructors are actively working in their field, they are able to teach students the latest procedures and techniques. Learning is hands-on through instructor-led classroom and lab exercises.
The Milan Institute of Cosmetology is a commuter campus and does not offer on-campus housing. Students train on state-of-the-art equipment, using up-to-date tools and supplies in a "hands-on" instructional approach. Each Milan Institute of Cosmetology location has a public salon and spa at which students are able to hone their technical skills on real clients. The school offers students assistance with voter registration and high school completion if necessary. The Career Services Department helps students create resumes and provides job search assistance. Financial aid is available to those who qualify.
