The Missouri State University - West Plains is a branch campus of the Missouri State University which was previously known as the Southwest Missouri State University. The current name was given in the year 2005. The Missouri State University - West Plains is a 2-year public institute situated in West Plains, Missouri. It was established as the West Plains Residence Center in 1963. It came to be known as the West Plains Campus of Southwest Missouri State University in 1977.
