Mitchell Community College, also known as MCC, was established in 1852, and is an open-admissions community college and is located in Piedmont, North Carolina. The college offers associate’s degrees in a wide range of subjects including accounting, biotechnology, computer information technology, and business administration. Apart from the associate’s degrees, a number of diplomas and certificates are also provided. Programs are also organized through distance learning courses. The institution provides opportunities for continuing education as well.

MCC aims at maintaining an active sports life for the students. It is home to the Mavericks club. The Mavericks is an intramural club and includes a number of athletic activities.
