Mountain Empire Community College, also known as MECC, is a two-year college located in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, United States. It was established by the State Board for Community Colleges and the Local Advisory Board. MECC is one of 23 schools in the Virginia Community College System. The MECC campus spreads across an area of 95 wooded acres. The college offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study.

MECC offers an active student life. The campus is home to several student clubs and organizations for the overall development of the students. Some of the popular organizations are Phi Theta Kappa (Honor Society); Red Fox Flier (Student Newspaper); and The Troupe (Drama Club).
