Mountainland Applied Technology College was established in November of 1989 as the Mountainland Applied Technology Center in Orem, Utah. Today, it operates three campuses in the state, including in American Fork and Spanish Fork It is one of the fastest growing colleges in Utah.
The institution is dedicated to providing market-oriented career and technical education for secondary school and adult students. Courses offered by MATC include business technology, general industry and technical programs, health care technology, automotive technology, and transportation and information technology.
Weekend and distance learning courses are offered to eligible students. MATC helps its students obtain finding financial aid, while other services offered include career counseling and job placement.

"The mission of the Mountainland Applied Technology College (MATC) is to provide market-driven career and technical education to both secondary and adult students, which meets the demand by Mountainland Region employers for technically skilled workers.
This is accomplished through competency-based education and training programs, which may be long term, short term, apprenticeship, or custom designed for individual employer needs. Many of the programs are offered in an open-entry, open-exit format providing flexibility for students and employers.
Students are assisted in acquiring the basic skills necessary to succeed in these technical training programs. MATC prepares students to enter, re-enter, upgrade, or advance in the workplace, which contributes to the economic development, and improves the quality of life for Mountainland Region citizens."
