MTI College has been in existence in Sacramento, California since 1965 as a private community institution. The college, which was voted the best vocational college in Sacramento, is known for its courses in information technology, law, business, health care and cosmetology. The law programs are particularly reputed.

MTI is one of the few institutions in the country to have earned an American Bar Association approval for its paralegal course. The programs offered by MTI lead to diplomas and associate degrees. The college is a participant of federal financial aid and provides institutional loans to students.
