Overview of National Business Services Alliance

The National Business Services Alliance (NBSA) is a unique online "work & learn" skill certification program, which provides online training tailored to the needs of the individual student. NBSA has established a bond with a network of collaborating educational institutions which have a history of working with their respective communities to develop programs that address regional workforce needs. Their input has helped NBSA to craft custom learning plans with just the right mix of training to meet a variety of workforce challenges. Collaborating universities include: California State University at Sacramento; Louisiana State University; Northern Illinois University; University of Houston; University of Maryland; Rutgers University; and Weber State University.

National Business Services Alliance Faculty Quality

Upon enrollment in the program, students are assigned Training Advisors dedicated to ensuring students get the most from their certification program. Training Advisors are all professionals with experience in adult education, career development, recruiting and/or social services. In addition to practical experience, they hold degrees in education, psychology, social work, or similar fields. Many have completed master's degrees or post-graduate studies.

NBSA students are individuals looking to change jobs, reenter the workforce, or simply upgrade their current skills for advancement. They are highly motivated to enhancing and certifying their skills in the quickest timeframe possible.

National Business Services Alliance Student Life

The online student experience is facilitated through the ongoing support of Training Advisors. These Advisors are the primary contact for students and manage their progress through planned steps and actions. In addition to setting deadlines for course work and tests, support may include reviewing previous educational achievements and work experience, developing personalized training plans, and advising students on matters related to future employment. Students also have continuous access to NBSA's user interface, which provides a broad range of powerful tools to help students track their personal learning plan and career growth. NBSA's technology will identify jobs that may be appropriate for them based on individual interests, skills, personal characteristics and work experience. The Job Skill Quick Tests allow students to evaluate their skill strengths and gaps against a specific job. This valuable software platform allows students to both plan their career development and link to job openings in their community.
