New Mexico Junior College

Located in Hobbs, New Mexico, the New Mexico Junior College, also known as NMJC, was established in 1965 and started operating the following year. The college campus is spread over an area of 243 acres. Students can pursue associate's degrees and certificate programs in diverse fields of study including accounting, computer information systems, elementary education, mathematics, and nursing. Distance learning opportunities are available for outstation students as well.

New Mexico Junior College, which is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), fields sports teams for basketball, baseball, rodeo, golf, and track. The sports teams are nicknamed the Thunderbirds. Student organizations include Phi Beta Lambda, Student Government, and Phi Theta Kappa.
