New York Institute of Technology was established in 1955. It is a private, co-educational college, with a main campus in Old Westbury, New York. New York Tech’s athletics teams are called the Bears, and the team colors are gold and blue. The sports offered are men's lacrosse, men's and women's basketball, soccer, softball, cross-country, and track, and women's volleyball. The Bears have won a number of national championships in lacrosse.
