North Central Texas College was established in 1923. This community college serves Montague, Denton and Cooke Counties in Texas. The main campus, set on nearly 110 acres of land, is located in Gainesville. Two branch campuses can be found in:

The official colors of the sports teams of NCTC are white and blue, and the college teams are called the Lions. North Central Texas College has volleyball, tennis, softball and baseball teams. They are members of National Junior College Athletic Association.
