North Metro Technical College

North Metro Technical College, also known as NMTC or North Metro Tech, was established in 1989. This two-year state technical institute is under the Technical College System of Georgia. Spread across 51 acres of land in Acworth, Georgia, NMTC's recent enrollments have been over 2,000 students every year.

A large number of certificates, diplomas, and associate’s degree programs are offered to students at North Metro Technical College. One can choose from courses in the fields of accounting, automotive, business, computer information systems, diesel equipment technology, early childhood care and education, electronics, health, industrial systems, practical nursing, radiography, and visual communications.

North Metro Technical College supports several student clubs and organizations. Among those on campus include the Lambda Nu, Phi Beta Lambda, Skills USA, Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership, Professional LANd care NETwork, Association on Young Children, Health Occupations Students Of America, and Student Leadership Council. The college also plans to start a sports program with teams in basketball and volleyball.
