Northern Maine Community College was established in 1961. The campus of the college is spread across 87 acres of land in Presque Isle, Maine. It is one of the colleges under the Maine Community College System.

Northern Maine Community College offers more than 30 programs of study leading to associate's degrees in arts, science, and applied science. Students can choose from courses in the fields of liberal arts, science, business technology, nursing, allied health, and trade and technology.

Northern Maine Community College is a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association and the Yankee College Conference. Its sports teams are known as the Falcons, and they compete in cross country, basketball, golf, hockey, soccer, skiing, and snowboarding. Students can also participate in intramural sports like racquetball, tennis, basketball, softball, volleyball, and foul shooting.
